GALVANIZED FITNESS COVID19 SAFETY PLAN

Please find below the steps we are taking to ensure your health and safety during COVID19

Wellbeing of staff and visitors (Requirements & Actions)

  • Exclude staff and members who are unwell

    If any staff members present with symptoms of any illness or those related to COVID-19 they are to directly contact management and do not attend the premises. Isolate until symptoms have gone and get tested if necessary and follow protocols post testing.

  • Provide staff and members with information on COVID-19 including when to get tested, hygiene and cleaning, social distancing

    All staff have completed online COVID safety/infection control course

  • Display conditions of entry

    Conditions of entry are displayed at the front entrance as well as posted to social media platforms and websites.

  • Indoor gyms must assign one staff member as a covid safe marshall who will be distinctive (e.g. badge) and responsible for ensuring all aspects of COVID safety plan are adhered to, overseeing social distancing and the accuracy of record keeping

    One coach is only ever present at each group fitness class, so they are always assigned as the COVID safe Marshall. 

  • Managing staff or visitors presenting with illness

    If staff or visitors present with illness they are required to notify staff immediately so that necessary preventative measures can be put in place to stop the spread of illnesses throughout the facility. If presenting with symptoms of COVID or becoming unwell after visiting a hot spot, individuals must leave premises get tested and self isolate, excluding themselves from the premises until they are able to provide documentation of a negative test result

  • Record of name and contact details

    All records of class attendance is kept in the MINDBODY system these records can be accessed if needed.

  • Signage/sharing of covid plan

    There is a copy of Galvanized Fitness COVID safety plan at reception as well as uploaded to the website etc

Physical Distancing

  • Ensuring the number of people does not exceed one person per 4 square meters (excluding staff)

    Classes are limited to 20 people. The size of the room where classes are run is 156 square meters this allows up to 36 people in the gym room.

  • Ensure gym or recreation classes have no more than 20 participants (not inclusive of the instructors) and comply with the one participant per 4 square meters. Ensure participants remain 1.5 meters in distance where practical

    Classes are limited to 20 participants and the online booking system ensures that this limit is met. Members do not enter the premises for a class unless they have previously booked into the session. Inside the gym participants are spaced out to ensure physical distancing and where possible remain 1.5 meters in distance

  • Move or block access to equipment to support 1.5 meters of physical distance between people

    When classes are planned it is ensured that equipment is chosen and moved around the room keeping physical distancing measures in place.

  • Ensure communal facilities such as showers, change rooms and lockers have strategies in place to reduce crowding and promote physical distancing

    There is 1 male and 1 female toilet facility within the gym. Only one member can enter the bathroom to use the facility at a time, markers are placed outside the bathroom for those who may be waiting to ensure social distancing is met where practical.

  • Reduce crowding wherever possible and promote physical distancing with markers on the floor

    Once checked in members approach the lockers 2 at a time and once there belongings have been placed securely they head straight into the gym to ensure that there is no overcrowding in the entrance area and clients move into the class smoothly

Hygiene and Cleaning

  • Reduce crowding wherever possible and promote physical distancing with markers on the floor

    Once checked in members approach the lockers 2 at a time and once there belongings have been placed securely they head straight into the gym to ensure that there is no overcrowding in the entrance area and clients move into the class smoothly

  • Adopt good hand hygiene practices

    On entering the facility all staff, visitors and members are required to use the hand sanitiser provided before checking in. 

  • Ensure sanitiser is accessible at the entry and throughout the facility

    Hand sanitiser is easily accessible for staff and members at the entrance of the gym and throughout the inside of the facility along the benches surrounding the gym.

  • Ensure bathrooms are well stocked with hand soap and paper towels or hand dryers consider providing visual aids above hand wash basins

    Bathrooms are checked multiple times per day to ensure that they are fully stocked with hand soap and paper towels. Bins are emptied as needed and new liners are placed inside. The bathrooms are cleaned daily.

  • Encourage visitors to bring their own water bottle, sweat towels and exercise mats

    Visitors are always required to bring their own water bottle and sweat towels and are encouraged to bring their own exercise mats where possible. There are water bottles available for purchase for anyone who may forget their own. If exercise mats are borrowed they are sanitized and disinfected after each use.

  • Clean/disinfect frequently used indoor hard surface areas

    All floors are vacuumed and mopped where possible

  • Clean frequently touched areas and surfaces multiple times per day

    Frequently touched areas such as lockers, bench tops, equipment, check in areas and door surfaces are wiped down and disinfected after each class or client 

  • Reduce sharing of equipment where practical and ensure these are cleaned with disinfectant between uses

    Where possible, each client selects their own equipment to use throughout the class. If equipment is shared it is disinfected and before every class all equipment used is cleaned and disinfected before being placed back in the designated areas.

  • Ensure there is detergent/disinfectant and gloves for visitors to access if they wish

    There is detergent and disinfectant available throughout the gym along the benches where the hand sanitiser is located and is easily accessible to anyone who wishes to use it before/during and after class.

  • Encourage contactless payment options

    All payments are contactless and transitions are processed through the Galvanized Fitness App.
